About MND
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a Beast.
It's a devastating and progressive disease that gradually takes away a person’s use of their arms and legs, their ability to eat, their speech and ultimately their ability to breathe.
The average life expectancy of a person living with MND is only 27 months. There is no effective treatment or cure - yet!
About FightMND
FIghtMND is driven by a singular and urgent purpose; a world without MND.
We exist to champion hope and lead the fight to defeat the Beast.
Thanks to the FightMND Army, people living with MND now have more opportunity to participate in research or clinical trials throughout Australia. FightMND is the largest funder of MND research in Australia and one of the largest in the world.
We don’t accept that MND is incurable. It has just been underfunded. Research is expensive and it takes time, but it is the best way we can fight back against the Beast.
Since 2014, FightMND has invested more than $63 million into vital MND research and care to improve the lives of people living with MND. This includes:
12 Clinical trials
22 Drug development projects
25 IMPACT projects
19 Other research initiatives
But the fight is far from over. Every dollar raised takes us another step closer to a cure. With your help, we can defeat the Beast.
